4 magical tree stars!
I really enjoyed this one! This is book 2 in the Five Senses series, but book 1 does not have to be read to understand this story. It is a spin off with secondary characters from book 1.
We are introduced to Pippa as she is singing at a fallen soldiers funeral, where she meets the guy who gives her sparks, Clay. But she also meets a dangerous man named Dewey.
Pippa is a widow with a set of twins that were not born yet when their father died. So for 6 years she's been a single mother. She dated around a little bit but nothing serious. So upon meeting Clay and being so attracted to him threw her off kilter. One thing I kept laughing about was Pippa wouldn't cuss around her children. Some of the stuff she said was...well just plain funny!

^^ See? That is hilarious to me!
This book had everything I look for in a story.

Likable Characters
I liked how she wrote in details about the protesters at the soldiers funerals. While in college we had a professor who showed us films about the Westboro Baptist Church and those people are crazy! And I think Gemma wrote those characters well!
So if your looking for a story with a twist that is funny and sweet this is the book for you!

About the Author
Gemma's favorite desk accessories for many years were a circular wooden token, better known as a 'round tuit,' and a slip of paper from a fortune cookie proclaiming her a lover of words; some day she'd write a book. All it took was a transfer to the United Kingdom, the lovely English springtime, and a huge dose of homesickness to write her first novel. Once it was completed and sent off with a kiss, even the rejections addressed to 'Dear Author' were gratifying. After returning to America, she spent a number of years as a copywriter, dedicating her skills to making insurance and the agents who sell them sound sexy. Eventually, her full-time job as a writer interfered with her desire to be a writer full-time and she left the world of financial products behind to pursue an avocation as a romance author.
