Unbeloved by Madeline Sheehan

Synopsis:

Dorothy Kelley is a born romantic, searching for her prince. Instead she finds herself pregnant at fifteen, and a in a loveless marriage by the tender age of eighteen.

Then hope comes riding into her life on a motorcycle and within weeks, Jason “Jase” Brady, a member of the Hell’s Horsemen motorcycle club, sweeps Dorothy off her feet.

But nothing is ever simple for Dorothy. Jase is married with children. And as Dorothy patiently waits for Jase to give her the happily-ever-after she’s been dreaming about, James “Hawk” Young, a member of the Hell’s Horsemen with secrets of his own, sees an opening into Dorothy’s life and takes it.

Carrying on two secret affairs is no easy feat. As Dorothy tries to dig herself out of the mess she’s created, covering one mistake with another, tragedy strikes, nearly costing Dorothy her life and that of her unborn son.

What follows is a long and painful journey of self-discovery and forgiveness, as Dorothy comes to realize that home was exactly where she’d left it, and the love she’d forever craved had always been within her reach.

This is the story of Dorothy, Jase, and Hawk.

We are all born pure; it is our journey that burdens us and leads us astray. Our mistakes that beat us down and cover us in guilt and shame, burying us a little more with each passing hardship. It is up to us to dig ourselves out, to come to terms with our faults, to embrace not only our imperfections but those of the ones we love, and to once again find the path we strayed from.

Warning: This is not a conventional or predictable love story. It involves one woman and two men bound by a love so destructive it spans two decades, pitting brother against brother, and shattering the lives of those touched by it.

Review:

How do I even begin to tell you how much I adore this series. I can still remember reading Undeniable forever ago and falling in love with the story. No it's not pretty and it's not romantic. Its dark, gritty, all consuming, and the most beautiful story I've ever had the pleasure of reading. There is no other MC book that compares to The Hell's Horsemen. Madeline Sheehan knows how to write a biker saga!

Unbeloved is the 4th book in the Undeniable series, and its a little different from the rest of the series. Of course a lot of that has to do with the aging of the characters. Some of those changes are just characters evolving because of the things that have happened in their lives. The main focus of Unbeloved is Jase, Dorothy, and Hawk, who we met in UnAttainable. You must have read UA to understand what is happening in UB. We get more Duece & Eva, Cage & Teegan, KAMI & COX(loved them) and we also get some more info on ZZ.

When I read a book, I want to get lost in another world. I want to lose myself and become part of the world the character is in. That's exactly what I get with Madeline's work. I become the character and feel everything they feel. I cry, laugh, and hurt when they do. I cried several times with Unbeloved. I love the direction that she took with the characters, I feel we get enough information about how the whole relationship began with Jase, Dorothy and Hawk. She didn't try to make the book longer by going into depth details, she stuck with the basics to give us some insight and that was enough in my opinion.

That epilogue. There are several words that come to mind when thinking of that epilogue but amazon doesn't like those four letter words so I'll just say that epilogue makes me want to scream and wail at Madeline.

I can't wait for the next 2 books in this series. Seriously people if you haven't read this series you are missing out!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Some of my favorite quotes

"What an absolute scumbag. What an absolutely, perfectly sculpted, beautifully smelling...scumbag."
"At least it looked like ZZ-- if ZZ and the Terminator had a fuck fest that had produced a love child named "Warmonger" who had been kept on a steady diet solely consisting of raw eggs and steroids."

And my absolute favorite is by Ripper.

"Because when it came down to it, this wasn't a pretty life by any means. Bodies fell, and people got hurt. But you did your best to keep going; you found yourself a nice little patch of happiness, and you clung to that shit like it was your last fucking breath."
