Killer Queen Blog Tour

Synopsis
Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome…
Come inside The Glamour Patch club to see the star of our show, Miss Vivica Blue.
Do you want to read my diary you nosy little devils? Have a glass of champagne (you’ll need it) and get comfortable because you’re in for some crazy shenanigans brought to you straight from the horse’s mouth.
I can be whatever you want me to be: boy, girl, a little bit of both.
If you have a problem with a man in a dress then best be off with you. If males in make-up give you the willies, then I’ll say au revoir and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
So, who are we left with? Ah, a fine collection of curious souls. I want to tell you a tale of love, because those are the most glorious kind. I want to tell you about real love, a love that transcends labels and gender stereotypes.
The moment I first laid eyes on my Freda I knew that we were kindred. Well okay, I also knew I wanted to get into her pants, but that’s beside the point. My world was a grey place. I was at my lowest ebb. Then she came along and patches of colour began to spring forth. One day the daffodils were yellow and before I knew it, colour was everywhere, lighting up my life.
Love is not about how we appear on the outside, it’s about the soul contained within.
Our story was not a conventional one, but it was ours, and that’s what made it shine.

Killer Queen is a companion novel to L.H. Cosway’s contemporary romance, Painted Faces. It contains scenes that take place before, during and after the original story. It can also be read as a standalone.

Christy's 5 Star Review!
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
5 Fred & Viv stars!

It seriously pisses me off that we live in a world where you can’t be free to express yourself in whatever strange way you happen to choose.

Here lately, I have been over the companion novels. The ones that are pretty much the same story from the other main characters pov- you know what I’m talking about... but this is VIV we’re talking about. I couldn’t skip this one and I’m so glad I didn’t. Being in his head was fantastically fun and inspiring. This is one perspective you’ve got to read. If you’ve read Painted Faces you know all about Vivica Blue AKA Nicholas. From the moment I met him, I was enamored with him. This story was a gem. Getting more of his past, his take on what happened during Painted Faces and a lovely glimpse into Fred & Viv’s future makes it a must read!

“We’re all a product of our experiences, and I do what I do because it’s the only way I know how to cope. What’s strange to the rest of the world is normal for me.”

Killer Queen is Vivica Blue’s story in the form of diary entries. It starts from the very beginning. Why Viv is the way he is. Viv is a troubled guy. With the help of a friend named Phil, he’s finally started to try and settle down and get his life together. Moving to a new city, taking a full time permanent gig as a drag queen. In his apartment building, he meets this girl. She is unlike any of the other woman he’s normally with. Fred is special. They become fast friends and she becomes the light in his dark life.

In all my years, I’d never felt anything quite like this with a woman. I’d never had a woman make me feel the way Fred made me feel, and I suddenly realized just how much I’d been missing out on.
I don’t really want to rehash the story here… if you’ve read Painted Faces, then you get the gist.

Fred is one of those characters guaranteed to put a smile on your face. She is hilarious, kind and understanding. I love the attitude she has and her snarky sense of humor. Most of all, I love that Nicholas feels that he can be himself with her. She loves and accepts him for who he is. That really shines through in this book. For someone who has never felt good enough, she makes him feel worthy.

And my sweet and broken Nicholas. I love his flirty and fun side, but his damaged side is just as big a part of him. Seeing all the why’s was so important. I feel like we got an even bigger look into why Nicholas is the way he is. Even with his moodiness, he has the best heart. I was so happy to see he got the beautiful ending he deserved.

I also want to express how much I love Phil. Yes. Phil. He is one of the greatest secondary characters. I adore this man even more when I see the kind of friend he’s been to Nicholas all along.

Drag queens, friendship, cupcakes, sex, love and everything in-between. L.H. Cosway has a knack for writing unconventional and unique love stories. Her writing style is fluid and fantastic. For all fans of Painted Faces, I would highly recommend. And if you haven’t yet read Painted Faces, you’re really missing out. I would say you could read this as a stand alone, but I feel like you would get more out of it by reading the first book first!

Excerpt
Once we arrived at the club, I was instantly bombarded by loud, garish music and hordes of people gyrating on the dance floor. Normally I preferred a less populated setting. I’d been there, done that, purchased the T-shirt when it came to the club scene, but since Fred was with me, I didn’t mind. A Lady Gaga song came on, and I dragged her onto the dance floor. She was reluctant, but I insisted. I tried to pull her body close to mine, but she manoeuvred away, and I smiled at her fondly when she began to do the robot.
She was nervous, and I thought it was adorable.
I wasn’t going to let her get away with platonic dancing, though, as I spun her around, put my hands on her hips, and brought her body flush with mine. With my front pressed into her back, I was hoping she could feel how she affected me. She remained stiff even as I tried to coax her body to move to the beat. I’ll admit I felt like doing a Patrick Swayze and starting in with some real dirty dancing. I could dry-fuck on a dance floor like you wouldn’t believe, and I had moves that would make even a stripper blush. However, Fred was already mortified by our proximity, and I didn’t want to scare her away.
“Relax,” I told her, my breath hitting the back of her neck. “Follow my lead.”
Her body became a fraction less rigid, and I preened inwardly. She was trying. She wanted this. I allowed my hand to wander up to her neck and sink into her lustrous curls. They called to me with their siren’s song, begging to be touched. I wasn’t sure what the sexiest thing about her was, but I was beginning to think her hair was taking the lead. It was so soft and silky, I wanted to sink my face into it and breathe it in. Totally creepy, yes, but there you had it.
