Title: Monster Stepbrother
Author: Harlow Grace
 Release Date: February 9, 2015

Synopsis

His dark obsession runs deep.

How does a girl go from being her Daddy’s precious baby doll to feeling like a filthy whore?

Easy really. When my father remarries it changes the course of my life and everything becomes . . . complicated.

My new stepbrother is a monster who hates me. Unapologetic, controlling and brazen he’s intent on making my life a living hell. Blackmails me into doing things I never thought I’d do. Illicit things.

Oliver King makes the rules. He f*cks me whenever he wants. How he wants. Where he wants.

My head screams this is wrong, yet I can't resist giving in to forbidden desires.

I’m his possession, his toy — his ultimate pleasure.

He’s never letting me go. I’m his dark obsession.

My dirty addiction to my stepbrother grows to a dangerous level. Am I sick to crave more from the man who has made me his slut? Or should I escape and run as far away as possible?

My name is Maya Childs and this is my story.

Dark erotic novel that contains sensitive subject matter that may make readers uncomfortable. Not appropriate for readers under 18. Contains explicit language and descriptions of sexual situations and violence.

Harlow Grace has tried many things in her life but writing has always been and still remains her passion.  She loves to create characters in need of redemption and her stories are mostly all dark romance but then again, she likes to mix things up so don't be surprised if she publishes a sweet romance every now and then.  When she's not writing or reading, Harlow is plotting and planning her next adventure or dreaming of lazy days in the sun with a good book in one hand and a cocktail in the other.

Reviews
Bella's Review: 3 Stars
The blurb of this book pulled me in right away. Step-brother? Taboo? Dark obsession? I could not WAIT to read this.

Things I liked about the book:
~ Alternating POV between Maya and Oliver - this is my favorite way to read a book.
~ Awesome premise!
~ Super hot sex scenes. Oliver and Maya have insane chemistry and the taboo/forbidden aspect always gets the blood pumping.

Things I did not like about this book:
~ The writing did not pull me in. Monster Stepbrother is Harlow Grace's debut novel and I could tell. The plot was a bit choppy. The dialogue wasn't natural and there were words like "daren't" in it. The timeline bounces back and forth between past, present, 2 years later, etc.
~ Oliver was hell bent on shaming Maya any chance he could. I know the title is "Monster Stepbrother" but I needed more appealing qualities to him other than he was good looking.
~ I had a really hard time connecting to the characters.

Bottom line: if you are looking for a smutty read, one click now.

I look forward to this author's future work.

Reanell's Review

3.5 stars!

So one day I was scrolling through Facebook and I came across this cover reveal for a new book coming out. It was for Monster Stepbrother, and I instantly searched the author out to see if there was going to be a blog tour because the cover sold me on it.  So if you couldn't tell I have major love for this cover!! HA! Okay so on to the review. The step siblings is such a taboo topic for some, so I can see where some might be skittish to read this one, but honestly things like that don't bother me in books.

Monster Stepbrother is not for the faint of heart, this story gets pretty dark with some aspects. What do you do when you fall for your older step brother and he seems to hate your guts? You act out to see what kind of rise you get out of him. And boy does Maya get a rise out of Oliver. :) He could be down right mean sometimes to her and she always came right back at him. Even if it was killing her inside. But when does it become too much for 1 person to handle and they end up hurt badly?

Overall this is a pretty good book, I agree with Bella you could tell this is Harlow's debut novel. The writing wasn't bad, it just didn't seem to flow fluently. I would definitely read her work again, and look forward to seeing what else she writes.
